Meredith, my secret is garlic and goat cheese. I use about 6 cloves of roasted garlic and one packet of goat cheese for a family size portion of mashed potatoes. I get loads of requests for it at potlucks and family dinner get-togethers. I think it’s the roasting of the garlic that really makes it. A little parsley never hurt anyone either!!

Tulip - can I ask what the secret is to your favorite mashed potatoes? I love experimenting with mashed potatoes. I tried Giada’s pesto mashed potatoes with a roasted chicken on Sunday. I also like adding Gorgonzola occasionally. My standby is reds, with the skin still on, lots of garlic powder, butter, cream and fresh parsley!

LOL! I love that Ina seems to be a big hit in the kid AND adult arena! I actually just wrote her a little fan letter telling her about my daughter’s love!

I love Barefoot Contessa so much too! I’m afraid if I ever met her that I would not be able to control my urge to touch her hair. I know that sounds bizarre but she has the silkiest softest looking hair.
I loved reading this - it made me remember a doll cake my mom made for my 5th birthday. She had tiny licorice pieces for her hair

Yeah, it’s just a slam-book (remember those?? shudder) site that picks on some of the mommy-bloggers. She doesn’t allow comments on her blog, the better to frustrate the people she’s pissing off. The thing most people are mad about is the altering images of the bloggers children. Which is really beyond mean. I wasn’t posting links but if you google “violent acres” you can find it.

That is awful. I’m a bit confused by your post - this is a blog that somebody created and posted altered photos of others? What is this site? Are people posting comments on that site telling the blog owner what they think?
